What I read in January (2025)

Two boys at Bako National Park in Sarawak, Mayalsia (Borneo), 2009.

Whaea Blue by Talia Marshall (essays / memoir, nz - this was beautiful in parts and impenetrable in parts. One essay featured people that I met in Dunedin once which was interesting.)

You Probably Think This Song Is About You by Kate Camp (essays, nz - really enjoyed these)

Constellations by Sinead Gleeson (essays, Irish)

Burn by Peter Heller (his latest work of fiction)

Creation Lake by Rachel Kushner (fiction, shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2024 - I enjoyed the first two thirds of this a lot but for me it devolved somewhat towards the end and felt somewhat flat.)
